Prepare Walls

Have walls clean and free of obstructions before installation.

surveyWalls

Survey Wall Structure

Survey the wall structure, ensuring that you can fasten to secure wall framing members.

Check for Wall Mechanical

Survey any in-wall mechanicals (wires and pipes), that may appear to be wall framing. Avoid all in-wall mechanicals during installation.

removalWalls

Carefully Remove Base Trims

If your new closet system rests on the floor, remove the base trim on the rear wall (to be re-installed after closet installation). Lastly, find the high spot on the floor.

Basic Installation

1A. Install wall hang rail and cover cap

  • Determine the wall hang rail mounting height.
  • Measure from the finished floor and mark the wall hang rail mounting height on the wall.
  • Level the line across the width of the closet. (Figure 1)
  • Determine wall stud locations and lightly mark the wall.
  • Measure the required wall hang rail width and cut both the wall hang rail and plastic cover cap with a metal cutting saw. (Figure 2)

Assembly 4
Figure 4

1B. Install wall hang rail and cover cap

  • Align the bottom of the wall hang rail to your levelline on wall and fasten to studs with installation or construction screws. (Figure 3)
  • Do not use standard drywall screws. Ensure screws are of adequate length to pass through wall sheathing firmly into wall framing members (wall studs).
  • If your wall hang rail ends between studs, or more than 4" from a stud, you will need to install a drywall toggle bolt to secure wall hang rail to wall.
  • Beginning on one end, align the plastic cover cap, and snap in place. (Figure 4)
  • Continue on additional walls if needed.

Bottom of Hang Rail will be located 3-7/8" below top of desired closet system height.

- OR -

For standard mounting height of 86" the bottom of the track will be placed at 82-1/2" above finished floor.

2. Layout the closet sections

  • Your closet design will need a small gap on each end, typically between 1" and 2". This is to ensure that the closet system can be assembled without the constraints of imperfect wall conditions.
  • Determine overall wall dimension, then subtract the designed closet overall width. Leave about half of that balance on the far right of the closet, and the other half on the far left of the closet. Keep in mind that the overall designed width of the closet may increase slightly as you assemble the closet.
  • Layout the vertical partition locations. (Figure 5)

3. Organize the closet components

  • According to your closet design, locate the appropriate closet components near their installation location, beginning with the vertical partitions.
  • Next, organize the fixed shelves near the vertical partition locations.
  • No need to organize the adjustable shelves, clothes rods, drawers, or any other accessory at this time.

4. Install the vertical partitions

  • Begin from the far right or far left of each wall. If you have a wall with an open-ended system run, begin against the wall.
  • Each vertical partition will require a panel hanger (Figure 6). The panel hangers are attached near the top of the partition, and fastened with 2 – 5mm Euro-Screws. NOTE: There are right and left-handed panel hangers, use according to the requirements on your design.
  • Please reference the individual module instructions for further information.
  • Hang the partitions.
  • Do not adjust the panel hanger at this time, unless you must due to extreme wall variations.
  • There are 2 different connector dowels used in assembly (Figure 7):
    • The screw-in dowel is used when a common shelf is not required, or at the first or last partition.
    • The push-in dowel is used when a common shelf is present; where there is a shelf in the same location on each side of the vertical partition (such as the top).
  • You will want to pre-assemble any connectors required on the partition. This will be determined by the module type. (Figure 8)

5. Install the upper fixed shelves

  • Again, beginning on the far right or far left of the closet run, connect the first fixed shelf to the first partition. Fit the shelf loosely between the verticals and slide over the connector dowels. (Figure 9)
  • Using the #2 Phillips or Pozi screwdriver, secure the cam to the dowel with a half turn of the screwdriver. Pull snug, but be careful not to overtighten and break the connector dowel or cam fitting. (Figure 10)
  • Continue with the remaining upper fixed shelves and loosely tighten cams

NOTE: Do not use a power driver or drill for cam fastening.

6. Level and straighten the system

  • Begin by placing a level on the top of the partitions across the top fixed shelves. (Figure 11)
  • Adjust the panel hangers to accommodate variations in height. Insert your screwdriver in the bottom screw and turn clock-wise to raise and counter clock-wise to lower the panel. (Figure 12)
  • Once all the vertical partitions are level, the next step is to draw the panels inward towards the backwall. Insert your screwdriver in the rear adjusting screw and turn clock-wise to draw panel to wall. Careful not to overtighten or to pull the fixed shelves aparThe objective is to ease the system to the back wall. (Figure 13)

7. Continue installing fixed shelves in modules

  • Similar to the upper fixed shelves, continue installing the fixed shelves for all the remaining modules. Review the module reference guide for dowel locations, if needed.
  • Always begin with the highest fixed shelf first and work your way down.
  • Do not install the adjustable shelves until a later step. This will make the final install easier.

8. Install adjustable shelves and clothes rods

  • Install the 5mm adjustable shelf pins, according to the module reference guide. (Figure 14)
  • Install adjustable shelf.
  • Locate the proper system holes for the clothes rod flange and push into place.
  • Slide the clothes rod into the closed flange, then lower into the open flange. (Figure 15)

9. Installing Drawers

  • There are different drawer heights and each height takes up a certain amount of system holes. Review module reference guide below for each individual drawer height.
Drawer Height # System Of Holes
6'' 5
7'' 6
9'' 7
10'' 8
11'' 9
  • Install drawer slide into the system holes on the partition according to that drawer’s height.
  • Place the 1st Euro-Screw into the 3rd hole from the front of drawer slide and then place the 2nd Euro-Screw into the other aligning hole.
  • Adjust the drawers. (Figure 16)
Closet Accessories

10. Install any accessories

  • Add any accessory item to your vertical partitions or fixed shelves.
